Proper parachute folding will ensure parachute opening when landing. It's important that the procedure described below is followed carefully and followed step by step. Only this procedure is approved when folding Atlas UAS parachutes.
NOTE: Please follow the steps below in the exact order in which they are listed.
IMPORTANT: Before folding the parachute please be sure it has been properly aired and untangled. Inspect the parachute for possible damages before use.
 Parachute folding - Evenly distribute the canopy. |
1. Open the parachute and verify that is not tangled. Try to evenly distribute the canopy. |

2. Hold the parachute by the suspension lines and below the deployment bag and make triangular shape.

3. Place triangularly shaped parachute on flat surface. Place all the parachute gores on one side. |
 Parachute folding - Tape bottom part of canopy. |
4. Place masking tape just below the canopy. |

5. Place masking tape on the top parachute deployment bag line. |
 Parachute folding - Distribute gores. |
6. Check if all six gores are untangled and place three gores on each side of the parachute. |
 Parachute folding - Evenly distribute three by three gores. |

 Parachute folding - Remove top masking tape. |
8. Remove top masking tape. |
 Parachute folding - Pull the main parachute cord. |
9. Pull the main parachute cord until all the suspension lines become tight.

 Parachute folding - Align folds. |
10. Align folds at the top of the canopy. Open up the first gore on one side of the canopy and align the fold. Repeat for all the gores on this side until all folds are aligned.

11. Repeat for all the gores on this side until all folds are aligned.

12. Repeat the procedure on the both sides. Gores must be placed in zig-zag pattern. |
 Parachute folding - Fold the canopy towards the opposite side. |
13. Start to fold the canopy parallel to the center of the canopy. Make the first fold 3 cm from the center. |
 Parachute folding - Fold the canopy around the centerof the canopy. |
14. Make the second fold in the opposite direction of the first one. Make sure it is approximately 6 cm wide. The width of the canopy must nicely fit the parachute deployment bag.

15. Grab the parachute on the top and the bottom. Make sure that you grab the parachute over the center so gores will not fall out when turning the parachute.

16. Hold the top and the bottom of the half-folded canopy and rotate it on the other side |
 Parachute folding - Repeat the procedure on the other side. |
17. Repeat the procedure on the other side. |

18. Once the parachute is folded on both sides it must be evenly wide from top to bottom. |

19. Fold the canopy from the top to the bottom in square like shape, so it fits in the parachute deployment bag. |
 Parachute folding - Place the parachute in the deployment bag. |
20. Once the canopy is folded move the canopy into the deployment bag. Leave the suspension lines on the top and the deployment bag line on the bottom. |
 Parachute folding - Place the parachute strings in the deployment bag. |
21. Roll up the parachute strings until you reach the parachute cord. Then place the m on the top of the folded parachute. Leave the parachute cord exiting on the side of the parachute. |
 Parachute folding - Grab the sleeve with elastic. |
22. Grab the deployment bag sleeve with the elastic. Hold it in place. Thread the elastic string through the hole on the opposite sleeve of the deployment bag. Thread it from underneath the sleeve. IMPORTANT: Make sure the elastic loop is not stretched out and it's still flexible when it holds the lines. Elastic loop enables easy opening of the parachute. Stiff loop can prevent the parachute form opening. |

23. Thread the elastic string through the hole on the opposite sleeve of the deployment bag. Thread it from underneath the sleeve. |

24. Thread the elastic string through the holes on all the sleeves, making sure the last one is the one where elastic exits. |
 Parachute folding - Place the parachute sting throughthe elastic. |
25. To hold together the parachute deployment bag place the parachute cord threw the elastic. |

26. Make sure only a small loop exits the elastic to ensure quick opening of the parachute. IMPORTANT: Only small loop can ensure quick opening, big loop can delay or prevent the parachute from opening. |

27. Roll the rest of the parachute cord around the parachute deployment bag. |

28. Parachute then can be placed in the parachute container and is ready for the flight. |
